Want To Get Stretched?
If we only ever surrounded ourselves with books, sermons, and information with which we already agreed, then we would never grow. Here's a growing opportunity.
Greg Boyd, pastor of the Woodland Hills church in St. Paul, MN delivered a sermon series in 2004 entitled "The Cross and the Sword". You may have seen Greg in CNN's series, God's Warriors, which was a great perspective on the big three monotheistic faiths.
In this sermon series, Greg, discusses the differences between the kingdom of God and the kingdoms of this world. DISCLAIMER: I don't agree with everything he says. Though I do think a lot of what he says about God's kingdom makes sense.
Here are his 5 sermons:
Taking America Back For God?
The Difference Between the Two Kingdoms
Abortion: A Kingdom of God Approach
Is the Church the Guardian of Social Morality?
In, But Not Of the World
You may not agree with all of his ideas, but at a minimum you'll never see the kingdom of God in the same light.

I've listened to these and they are compelling. I don't agree with everything, but the over riding principle is that the kingdom of God is very different from any other governemnt, and as memebers of his kingdom we should think and act differently.

Yep. It definitely spurs some thought. These sermons really helped me see the significant difference between the kingdoms.
