Shifting Views on Health Care

It's interesting that American doctors have finally made a shift to desiring some sort of national health care system.

Assuming doctors know more about health care than government, and assuming doctors are truly following the Hippocratic Oath, then it would seem they would "prescribe regimen for the good of [their] patients according to [their] ability and judgement and never do harm to anyone." (though it would seem that some don't follow this oath seriously since abortions are in direct violation of the oath). If health care providers recognize that our current method of distributing health care goods and services is unjust and not in the best interest of the sick, and they're even willing to possibly face pay cuts to employ a national health care system, then perhaps they're onto something. Can we ignore the view of the majority of health care providers?
