Our Heritage and Destiny
Leroy Garrett is a wise man who has helped shape the Restoration Movement. He offered a sermon entitled, "Our Heritage and Destiny" at the Spring Woodlands Church of Christ (now called Grace Crossing) in Houston, TX on May 7th, 2006.
In short, it's one of the best sermons I've ever heard. If you are a part of the Restoration Movement, you need to hear this sermon. It is these ideals, which Mr. Garrett discusses, that keep me in the Restoration Movement today. Let us not forget that the intent of this movement was unity, and, although it seems in much of our history we have striven for the exact opposite of unity, we always have a heritage to point to and to draw from that leads us to our unity in Christ.
If you're a part of the Restoration Movement, how does this sermon speak to you?
If you're of another tribe of Christianity, what are your perceptions of the Churches of Christ and/or the Restoration Movement?

In 1 Corinthians 1, Paul says "Is Christ Divided?"
As the speaker noted division is sinful. We will never unite on opinions but we can through Christ. I wish we all had the passion demonstrated in this movement of Christian unity that is centered around Jesus and not that of preferences and methods.

I guess I liked best his statement of "Let this body die and let us seek into union with the body of Christ at large." I am proud to be a part of this movement!
