Nashville Bound

Tomorrow morning we are heading to Nashville to attend the Zoe Worship and Leader Conference. I'm looking forward to it a great deal. Events like this are always a refreshing and inspiring time. I also know it will be a blessing to see several faces that I haven't seen in some time.

Pray for us while we're on the road. With 3 kids, ages 5 and under, we don't do road trips well. It usually tries everyone's patience.

In Nash, we'll stay with my parents. We'll also get to see my sister and her husband and their kids.

This will also be the first Sunday in a good long while that I haven't led worship. It will be a nice break to be able to worship without thinking about the technical side of worship. I cherish times like that.

....

Tonight while I was singing to Isaac and Ethan, Isaac started giving me encouragement as if I was preaching.

Me: Close your eyes baby of mine...
Isaac: Yeah!

Me: Don't you cry baby of mine...
Isaac: That's right!

Me: Lay your head close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine...
Isaac: (even more enthusiastically) That's right!

Of course by this point we were both cracking up. Kids are funny.

Funny, he doesn't look like a black pentacostal. Go figure.

I hated to miss ZOE, but my previous travels in the month kept me from making another trip. I can't wait to hear and read about it, especially being the 10th anniversary. I saw on BST's blog a picture of the Maxwell's painting of Jacob and God; wow.

Hope your fam is doing well. I'm enjoying a time of refreshment and rest.
