Poker nights

Dixie and the kids went to visit her grandparents in Beeville, TX on Tuesday. They got back earlier this morning. That means that the last two evenings I've been on my own. As Dixie left, she said, "enjoy the peace and quiet". I did enjoy the peace and quiet, but honestly it gets a little boring without the family around. I can only play so much online poker and watch so much TV before I get pretty sick of it. I'm glad that they will be there when I get home.

Wow it's nice outside today. Sunny and 83 here in San Antonio. Soak it up San Antonians!!!

I may need to go buy some more long sleeved shirts...

Well, Livingstons, it looks we will be neighbors after all. We agreed in principle to buy a house in Shadowoods this morning, and we hope to have a contract by the weekend.

We're looking forward to your arrival, and don't worry, it's not the heat so much as it is the humidity.

That's great Jeff! I'm excited that you found something you like, and I'm excited you'll be close!

What's the address? Ours is 400 Camellia Ln, although Google thinks it is 400 Camelia ln.

Let me hold off publishing our address for now, but you need, NEED, to read the post on our blog about a certain hidden expense to living in Mississippi. Go to www.paxfellaship.blogspot.com, then scroll down to my post "Highway Robbery," then start saving your change.

Yeah Claudia told us about that. She also suggested we just keep our TX tags until we file for Homestead in early 2007, although I'm not positive on the legality of that.

Is the fee based on the FMV of the vehicle?

While the cost does seem extreme, I can swallow it easier when I consider that the property taxes there are about 20% to 25% of what they are here.

Yep, it's based on the market value of your car.

Be careful with holding out on your tag, though.
