Sold!
Great News - we signed a contract on our house last night. This is contract #2. The first contract we had was with some friends at church, but unfortunately they aren't going to be able to get out of their lease. God blessed us with 3 or 4 potential buyers that were waiting in the wings in case there was a problem. We reached an agreement with the first person I called on the list. Dixie is taking all the paperwork to the title company today, so we just have to get a date for closing and we'll be done. We are relieved that getting it sold has been so easy. It's obvious that God is taking care of us!
We are leaving to head to Jackson tomorrow to start looking for a house there. We've talked to a realtor who goes to church at Meadowbrook and she has already sent us several listings. She seems very helpful. We are looking forward to the trip. We're going to drive instead of fly which means it will be a long trip, but I think it will be so much easier in the van. Sam and Carol have offered their minivan which is a little bit bigger and it has a TV in it, so that should help make the trip a little more bearable. We are hoping and praying to be able to find a house quickly so we can move right in and not have to put our stuff in storage.
I'm also going to lead worship at Meadowbrook on Sunday. I put together the service a little quicker than I usually like to, but I think it will be a meaningful time of worship and focus on prayer. Jerry Neil, the preaching minister at Meadowbrook, is beginning an 8 week series on The Lord's Prayer, which I think will be a great renewal and inspiration to dig deep into our prayer lives and ensure that our lives are within the will of God. Our first official Sunday will be the 6th or 7th week into the series. I think it will be a great study.
Dixie and the kids have all been fighting colds this week and last. Dixie has the worst of it right now so we are hoping she is better for this weekend. I'm also hoping I don't get it.
Isaac had his 5 yr old check up this week. He did great. He had to get 3 shots in his legs, but he was very brave. Jaylie had to get her 4 month shots too, so Isaac told me that if Jaylie could do it, then he could do it too. I feel like I've been so busy with the house and making arrangements for the move that I've lost some time spent with the kids. I need to make time for them even if I'm busy with the transition. When we get to Jackson, Isaac will go to the preschool at church, which means he can just go with me to work in the mornings and I can walk him down the hall to his classroom. Then after school, I plan to take him out to lunch before I bring him home. I'm really looking forward to this special time I'll have with him. He'll only be in school there for 2 or 3 months before the summer break. Next year will be kindergarten for him, so I plan on really treasuring those couple of months.
More later...

Congratulations on getting the house sold. That is always a load off your mind when it comes time to move. I hope your family is all feeling better soon and that you have a fantastic weekend at the new church.
Terrific! Good luck with the purchasing of the new home. Hope your family feels better soon. Doesn't Dixie know that getting ill as the mom is just really not legal?
Thrilled for you all in the house being sold and in the new job oppurtunity...He always provides.

How did things at the new church go? Did you find the perfect house? Hope everyone was well and the trip was a great one! Know you are busy but we need an update! Just want you to know that I am still your friend although you will soon be labeled as a "dog hater" for what you wrote on TMK's site!
Eric,
That's great news about your house. It seems obvious that God is caring for you and blessing you in this transition.
Mark Moran resigned from the SWCC on Dec. 18 and has taken a job as the HR person for a large company in San Angelo, TX. He and Annie moved there about two weeks ago.
