48 Hrs.

48 Hrs is not just a great Eddie Murphy movie. It's also the amount of time I've been in the house, save one quick trip to the corner drug store yesterday evening. Basically I've been at home for two days straight. It probably seems weird to be writing about such things, but it's a big deal to me. I really enjoy staying at home from time to time and my schedule rarely allows me to do so.

I'm on vacation this week, and although I still have some responsibilities at church that require some of my time this week, I don't plan to spend any time at the office this week. All my work will be done from home. I can't really remember a time where I've taken vacation time and not gone anywhere. Staying home is a real treat.

We were planning to go to Nashville this week to have Tgiving with my parents, but due to the cost of gas and some timing issues with my schedule it was going to be way easier if my parents would be able to come here. They've graciously obliged and should arrive tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to a relaxing week playing with the kids and visiting with my parents. We should have lots of fun and lots of pictures to share soon.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Trunk-or-Treat

I'm behind a bit on the blog. I've had a whirlwind week: getting ready for our Veterans' Night program at church, children's Christmas musical rehearsals are in full swing, my cub scout den is taking off, plus I've been pretty involved in several other major projects at church. Busy, but exciting stuff.

Anyway I've been intending to post these pictures for awhile but hadn't had time until now.

Jaylie was getting ready for Halloween far in advance.

Last week Jaylie got into Mommy's makeup drawer:

The next day when I was watching the kids Jaylie found Mommy's makeup drawer again.

For Halloween, Jaylie was a Princess Fairy Ballerina

Ethan was a scarecrow

Isaac was Spiderman (again). The only difference this year was that Spiderman's suit clung so tight to his body it really was like a second skin. We'll have to explore other costume options next year.

Here's all three

We had a great time at the Trunk-or-Treat at church. We had way more people than I expected and it was a lot of fun. The deep fried corn dogs were amazing!

And for the final picture today, here is how every kid in America feels the morning after Halloween
