Jumping in, in spite of the bandwagon

Ok, ok, I've joined the masses that are blogging. I think it's a requirement that your first blog post has to talk about how you've broken down and joined the bandwagon of blogging. So here is the obligatory first post. I've been meaning to start a blog for a while now, but I've been putting it off because, well, I'm lazy, but also because I've never been one to jump on a bandwagon about anything and so I sometimes even avoid things that seem too popular. Kind of weird logic I suppose, but nonetheless, here I am in the blog world. Better late than never I guess.

I've also made the blump (blump is short for "blog jump" and, as we all know, "blog" is short for "web log" so "blump is actually short for "web log jump" (ok I'm digging this blogging stuff already because you get to make up words)) because in about 36 hours I'll be welcoming my daughter to this world. I hope to post some thoughts fairly quickly after this experience while they are still fresh on my mind. I'll also post some pictures for all to see. We (my family - I'll introduce my family in greater detail in a later post) are all very excited at the upcoming addition to our family.

The birth is scheduled for 12:30 on Fri, 2 Sep, so keep us all in your prayers.
